As one of our senior social workers, you’ll lead by example making critical assessments and decisions that keep children safe from harm. Through care planning and management and direct therapeutic work, you’ll make sure young people and their families get the attention, care and support they need. You’ll also work closely with other agencies and organisations and act as a mentor to less experienced members of the team.

You’ll provide our social work teams with the direction, oversight and specialist support they need to continue achieving the right outcomes for children and families.
Looking for a new way to make a difference as a social worker? In this role, you’ll provide professional expertise across children’s services rather than spending your time in face-to-face meetings. Your aim? To help ensure team members are working to the highest standards and providing children and families with the right level of support. This will include acting as a role model and mentor to other members of the team and completing case audits on individual social workers’ case files. You may also need to take on a specialist role in areas such as child sexual exploitation, missing children, female genital mutilation and domestic abuse.

You’ll use your understanding and judgement to identify suitable placements for children and ensure they are being provided with the care they need.
This is a specialist role for experienced social workers who can understand children in the context of their life story and attachment history and identify family placements that meet their needs. You’ll also be responsible for building packages of support that help increase the resilience and stability of each placement so that children have the best chance of succeeding in all areas of their lives.

You’ll work with our brilliant young people as they journey out of our care and adjust to the realities of adulthood.
In this role, you’ll help young people aged 16 and 17 prepare for adulthood, ensuring they have the opportunity and support they need to thrive. As a skilled professional social worker, you’ll be able to deal with complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk while also helping young people take control of their lives. You’ll also enjoy plenty of support yourself, from your managers, in reflective themed groups and through individual supervision.
