You’ll play a key role in safeguarding children and young people and ensuring our social workers and managers put the interests of the child first at all times.
Your role will be to chair child protection case conferences, ensuring they take place in accordance with regulations and in a child-focused way. This means representing the interests of the child (even if they do not attend) and making sure parents and families have the opportunity to take part. You’ll also help raise standards in child protection by challenging the practice of social workers, managers and partners.
You’ll work with children, families, social workers and other partners to achieve the best outcomes for children in care
Your job will be to monitor and scrutinise the care plans for children in care while challenging and supporting social workers, managers and partners to keep raising their standards. Child in Care reviews are a key area of responsibility. To make sure they always deliver the best outcomes, you’ll be there to represent the interests of the child (even if they do not attend) and will follow up each review with clear recommendations for what needs to happen next.
